In several European countries a restaurant receipt is more than a printout: the law sets how each sale is recorded and reported. Germany and Italy are two of the clearest examples. This guide explains what Kappino POS does for fiscal receipts in both countries, and how the right setup is confirmed for your restaurant during onboarding.
What Kappino supports
Kappino supports country-specific fiscal requirements. Two of them are:
- Germany: TSE-signed receipts under the KassenSichV.
- Italy: electronic receipts through a registratore telematico (RT).
Fiscal rules differ from country to country, and sometimes depend on how a restaurant is set up. That is why the Kappino team confirms the right fiscal setup for your country with you during onboarding, rather than leaving it to a setting you have to find on your own.
Germany: TSE-signed receipts
In Germany, the KassenSichV requires sales recorded on an electronic till to be secured by a technical security system, the TSE. Kappino supports TSE-signed receipts for restaurants operating in Germany. Your onboarding contact goes through the setup for your business with you before you start trading on Kappino.
Italy: the registratore telematico
In Italy, the daily takings are recorded and sent electronically through a registratore telematico (RT). Kappino supports electronic receipts through an RT for restaurants operating in Italy, and the setup is confirmed with you during onboarding.
What every Kappino receipt already includes
Whatever the country, the receipt starts with the same correct sale data:
- VAT by dish and order type. Menu prices are VAT-inclusive, and each dish carries one rate for dine-in and counter and another for takeaway and delivery. One bill can carry several rates.
- A per-rate VAT breakdown on every receipt.
- Cover charge and discounts applied automatically. The cover charge is left off takeaway and delivery orders.
- The payment method, the amount received and the change.
- Your business details, which you enter in step 2 of the Quick Setup wizard: name, address and the details that appear on receipts.
Receipts print on 80 mm printers and can also be emailed to the guest from the payment screen. When a bill is split, each account gets its own receipt.
Corrections stay on record
Fiscal rules care about what happens after a sale as much as the sale itself. In Kappino, voiding a dish requires a reason, a payment recorded on the wrong account is reversed with a reason, and key actions are kept in an audit trail. Roles and permissions decide who is allowed to apply discounts or void dishes.

- Tell the Kappino team which country, and which branches, you trade in.
