Restaurant software holds the answers to most daily questions, but finding them usually means opening three reports and setting filters. Pino AI is the copilot built into Kappino: you ask in plain language and the answer comes from your own sales, orders, stock, customers, reservations and staff data. This guide follows a working day and the questions worth asking at each point.
How to open it
Open Pino AI from any screen in Kappino, or press ⌘/, type your question and the answer appears in the chat. It is also in the Kappino app for iPhone and Android. Pino answers in English, Italian, German, French or Spanish.
Before opening
Start with a one-tap prompt: Give me a summary or Today’s sales. Or ask in your own words:
- “How did we do yesterday?”
- “How does this month compare with the same month last year?”
- “Which reservations do we have tonight?”
- “Who is on today’s roster?”
- “What is running low?”
Low stock spotted now is a dish that does not have to come off the menu in the middle of service.
Planning the next days
Tap Forecast next 7 days, or ask about revenue and demand for the coming days. Each forecast comes with a confidence badge, so you know how much to rely on it before you plan staff or orders around it.
During service
- “Which orders are delayed?”
- “How many delivery orders do we have right now?”
- “Which tables are free?”
Pino covers orders by channel, delayed orders, table status and upcoming reservations, from the same chat.
Before ordering from suppliers
- “What did we waste this week?”
- “How much do we spend with each supplier?”
- “Which stock was transferred between branches this week?”
Customers and loyalty
Tap At-risk customers to see guests who have not been back for a while, or ask about your top customers and loyalty programme activity. It is a quick way to decide who a win-back email should go to.
After close
- “What were today’s best-selling dishes?”
- “How did each staff member perform today?”
- Tap Compare branches to see your locations side by side and spot the one that needs attention.
How the answers look
Pino replies with KPI cards, tables and charts rather than long paragraphs, and shows the sources behind each answer so you can check where a number came from. After each answer it suggests follow-up questions. Conversations are saved, and you can reopen and rename them. A thumbs up or down on each answer tells the Kappino team how Pino did.
Questions about Kappino itself
Pino also answers how-to questions about Kappino, so a new manager can ask how a feature works instead of searching the help centre.
What Pino does not do
Asking a question never changes anything in your restaurant: answers are read-only. Booking a table from the chat is being piloted and rolled out gradually; even then, Pino shows a Confirm reservation card and nothing is saved until an admin or manager confirms it.
Who can use it
Pino AI is a module in Kappino’s roles and permissions, so you choose which roles can use it, and each user only gets answers for the branches they are allowed to access.
